It gives me immense pleasure to contribute towards the 2019 Golden Jubilee School Magazine.
Science Department comprises of 4 members. The year 2019 so far has been quite enriching. The Department has done well academically as well as in the extra-curricular activities. In Term 2 students will participate in the National Titration Competition, and National Bio Battle organized by the Chemical Society of the South Pacific.
With a team of hardworking and dedicated teachers in the Department, the department managed to tackle all challenges that we came across so far.
The Department will also celebrate Drug-Free Week and Department Awareness Week in week 8 of Term 2, which will provide opportunities to students to show their talents by participating in form displays, quizzes, speeches and poems to create awareness against Drugs, Child Abuse, Suicide, STDs, Teenage Pregnancy, Media Awareness and Good Mental Health. Students will also make models and charts in Science during the week. Attached below are some pictures from last year’s Drug –Free awareness week.
In addition to this, students will also take part in Chemistry Quiz organized by the University of the South Pacific in Term 3.
Overall, Term 1 and Term 2 have been quite successful and the credit goes to the Department members who have worked endlessly to achieve the maximum.
Finally I wish to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Administration Team for their tremendous guidance and support.
