INTRODUCTION |

| Commercial studies prepares students to manage their finance, prepare budgets and record keeping. Therefore it is important to teach and deal with problems that are acceptable to the society and community as a whole.

ACCOUNTING |
| |
| Accounting is the study of people keeping record of monetary transactions, preparing financial reports and interpreting the reports for decision making purposes. |

ECONOMICS |
| |
| Economics is the study of how people make use of the scarce resources to satisfy their needs and wants. It further focuses on government and international involvement for the success and growth of a nation. |

DEPARTMENT ROLL AND TEACHERS |
| |
| Khalsa College offers commercial studies as a compulsory subject for Years 9 and 10 whereas accounting and economics is offered as a choice for Years 11 to 13 students. There are 231 students taking commercial studies, 50 students taking accounting and 70 students taking economics. A set of four qualified and dedicated teachers including the Head of Department are there to help the students with the subject of Commercial Studies, Accounting and Economics and most importantly help the students pass their external examination with good marks. |
