INTRODUCTION

“Without Christ Jesus and his saving grace, we would be lost. We should give thanks in all things, and at all times to God the father through Christ Jesus. He has given us all we have and saved us from our sin. Giving thanks is the least we can do.”

It is with immense pleasure I wish to congratulate the Khalsa College family in achieving another milestone in the education arena. As the school achieves its 60th year of establishment, the PEMAC department congratulates the stakeholders and its pioneer establishers for a task worthy of God’s praise.

I am delighted to be part of this edition and convey my hearty thanks to the College website committee for including our creative department above all. The faculty of arts, family life and physical education has a lot to offer and a lot achieve in the years to come. With the hardworking staffs and the very cooperative teachers, achieving beyond the labyrinth isn’t impossible. The school has two very hardworking gentlemen behind the success of this department. The Head of Department is a Bachelor in Education graduate majoring in Physical Education, Music and Art and Craft whilst Mr. Anishkar Sharma is a Higher Diploma in Education qualified from the Fiji National University. The two gentlemen are assisted by other department teachers in Physical Education class supervisions as well as in the teaching and learning of the Family Life subject.

The department strives for excellence in all arenas and gives the best response in achieving it. In the past we have achieved Gold medals from Coca Cola games, reached the quarter final stages in the Fiji Secondary Schools Soccer Championships held in Ba, represented the College at the Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Championships hosted in Suva as well as in Lautoka. Through Kula arts and dance competitions many of our students have been highly recognised for their drawings and dancing talents and the school as a whole unites during the Kula Dance Competitions.

With the support and assistance throughout, I wish to acknowledge the College Board of Governors, the School Administrative team, the parents, students and above all the hardworking teachers for keeping the vision and the mission of the department intact.

To all the readers I thank you for your precious time and my dear children of God, good luck in future and may God bless you all in His special ways. “You are among those very people who have made a difference in my life.” Thank you, Dhanyawaad and Vinaka Vaka Levu.
